April Commanders Notes

Greeting Comrades,

This month at our Post meeting we will be having our second nominations and elections for Post Officers. If you are interested in becoming an officer “Of the Best Post in Indiana” or know of anyone that you think would be a good officer, please let one of our current officers know. We will be happy to explain what the responsibilities of each office are. Remember: the Post is only as good as its officers.

This is a listing of the nominations from the March Meeting:  Commander: Thomas Owens;  Sr. Vice: Butch Marcum; Jr. Vice: Steve Coates; Quartermaster: Ron Weadick; Chaplain: Jay Loomis; 3-Year Trustee: Open; 3-years House Committee:  Jim Hankins

So as always: Remember to stop by and enjoy your post!

and so much more.......

As the Government continues its base closings and other cutbacks, another promise to Veteran’s runs the risk of extinction, the Military funeral. Active duty personnel cannot possibly keep up with the alarming rate that Veterans are passing away. The only way that all of the Veterans will receive a proper Military service upon their demise is through the various volunteer groups such as the Wayne County Honor Guard. A proper service consists of 11 people. At this time of year, especially with

vacations, illness, etc., we are often left shorthanded. If anyone is

interested in helping us with our ceremonies, please contact Jim Hall at

(765) 462-8532.

God Bless Our Vets!

Thanks,

 Jim Hall
