February Commanders Notes

Comrades:

As many of you may know, National has granted my appeal. I would like to thank Steve Coates for his dedication to duty serving our Post through this process. Thanks for stepping up Commander! I would also like to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of support I’ve received. This is a just and lawful organization and we should all be proud to be a part of it. Thanks again everyone!

First nominations for Post Officers will be during Post meeting, March 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Second nominations and elections for Post Officers will be during Post Meeting, April 7th at 7:00 p.m.

We will be mailing this newsletter to all Post members as notice of election. In doing so we would like to update our mailing list. If you would prefer to get your newsletter e-mailed or at the Post, please let us know and we will only send by mail when notice is required.

Our projector and screen are in and we’re ready for the big game. The projector screen is an amazing 5 X 9 foot screen. The Post will be open at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7th for our Super Bowl Party. Plan to join us for the game; there are plenty of seats and plenty of TV’s. Special thanks to Ralph, Sean and the many others who helped with the installation process.

Visit a Veteran in a nursing home

Every Tuesday in February at 5:15

2nd, 9th & 16th and  23rd

Come join Al Bledsoe in visits to our brothers and sisters who are in nursing homes in and around Richmond.

Just think what seeing a friendly face could mean to some of the Veterans who don’t have any family in the area visiting them or even some of them that do have family.

Check out the board at the Post to see how many are in nursing homes and may never get to go home again.

Think about how you might feel if you were laying there in a bed all day with no one to talk to that you have known outside the nursing home!

     Let's make a difference!
